Eastern Suburbs Football Club (“Easts FC”) originally formed in 1922, is one of the oldest and most established football clubs in Queensland, situated in the most central location of all Premier League clubs, approximately 2.7 kms from the Brisbane CBD.
On a Senior level we are only one of three (3) clubs in Brisbane that competes at the elite Premier League level in both men’s and women’s competitions. Eastern Suburbs FC also fields Junior Age Group teams (Under 12’s to Under 16’s) in the Brisbane Premier League (“BPL”). Each fortnight, spectators have the opportunity of watching eight (8) Premier League games from Under 12’s to the Senior Men’s. These home game series generate significant spectator support who enjoy the food and service in the ‘Roller Door Café’ which many consider to be the best of any football club in Brisbane. In addition to the Brisbane Premier League, Easts FC also fields teams in the Brisbane Football City League and junior divisional competitions.
Eastern Suburbs Football Club will crown off a very successful season next weekend with 7 teams from the club playing in grand final around the city, with already having 3 teams play this weekend.
This success is the fruit of the clubs decision to invest in the long term future, with the introduction of a junior development program and the reconstruction of brand and style of football the seniors would adopt and play.
These decisions brought changes to the way and thinking of the club, coaches and committee.
Changes that showed promise at the end of its first year, with a few teams making the semi finals.
However season two has seen the club take huge steps towards its long term goals within the growth and development of Eastern Suburbs Football Club.
This weekend will see 5 teams from the clubs junior development program play in grand finals.
The under 12 BPL team play in their first grand final, this team have already won the Championship with a 7 point margin to its nearest opposition.
We will also see the under 14 BPL team play in their grand final, stepping up from their semi final defeat last season.
The under 16 BPL team will also make their first grand final after a wonderful display in beating the Championship winning side Pennisulla Power.
The under 14 Division 1 team has displayed huge growth and development during the season to reach this weekend grand final.
This weekend will also see our girls under 12 Div 2 team playing in their grand final.
East's Senior team are having a extremely successful season finishing 4th, with missing out of the grand finals on a penatly shot out. The team has also won the local Championship of Champions and last week beat Braodbeach Football club in the State Championship of Championship.
The Reserve side finished second in the championship but will play and hopefully win their second grand final in 2 seasons.
